In the novel, ZZS and WKX are not always together. Like each have their own matters to attend to and they respect that. Some ZZS scenes or dialogues are given to WKX in the drama. It make sense that the drama changed that part a bit bc I noticed that drama viewers in general(Quite similar to Chang Ge Xing drama?) tend to be impatient? Especially if one only care about the bromance and has no interest in the story or characters. As for me I really prefer historical fantasy setting bc I love the world building.

Anyway! In this scene, WKX tell ZZS that he need to leave to fix things in Ghost Valley. He need to do this not only so he can live with ZZS but also for himself, to face and move on from his past. ZZS gave him a GO signal bc he trust him. It’s so cute tho that WKX is grabbing his own hair while saying goodbye to ZZS! This scene gives me “a husband going to work” vibe lol

WKX: I need to leave to work. You take care of yourself and don’t forget to take your medicine. Don’t cheat on me, too! I’ll be definitely back for your surgery so I can be by your side.

ZZS: Ok bye and don’t die.
